Why Sculpted Grounds

Built right. Built to last.

I'm Breeden. Five years installing pavers and hardscape — and I started Sculpted Grounds to do this work the right way on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Proper base. The right materials. Every paver backed by a lifetime guarantee. If you want a patio that's still flat in twenty years, that's the only way to build one.

Locally owned. Fully insured — certificates available on request. Serving Bay St. Louis through Slidell, across the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Frequently Asked

The questions we get asked most.

How long does a paver patio installation take?+

Most residential paver patios take three to five working days, weather permitting. The day-by-day breakdown: excavation and base prep, base compaction and edge restraints, paver laying and cutting, then polymeric sand and final cleanup. We give you a clear timeline at the consultation.

Will my pavers shift over time?+

Only if the base wasn't prepped right. Most failures we see on other contractors' work trace back to skipped excavation, the wrong base material, or no edge restraints. We over-build the base on every install — that's why we can put a lifetime guarantee in writing on our paver work.

What exactly is covered under the lifetime guarantee?+

If a paver settles, shifts, or fails because of our installation — for as long as you own the home — we come back and fix it free. The guarantee covers workmanship: base movement, paver separation, joint failure. It doesn't cover damage from vehicle impact, tree-root upheaval, or acts of God. Retaining walls and fire pits installed with full excavation carry the same guarantee.

What about hurricane season — when can you install?+

We install year-round on the Gulf Coast. Hurricane season (June–November) means watching the forecast and rescheduling around named storms when they form. Most years that's one or two reschedules. Compacted paver patios actually handle Gulf Coast rain better than poured concrete because water can drain through the joints.

How do permits, HOA approval, and engineering work?+

Most residential paver patios on the Mississippi Gulf Coast don't need a permit, but driveways and anything in a setback zone usually do. Permits and HOA submissions are the homeowner's responsibility — we'll point you to what's needed and answer questions along the way. If your project requires an engineer (some retaining walls and slope work do), we'll handle finding and coordinating one for you. The engineer's fee is paid by the homeowner separately from our install.

Can I see what it'll look like before I commit?+

At the consultation we sketch the concept on paper, lay out paver samples on your property, and walk you through pattern options. For larger projects we can mock up a top-down drawing of the layout with dimensions. The free consultation is where this happens — you'll see the plan before you sign anything.

Why hire a hardscape specialist instead of a general landscaper?+

General landscapers do a little of everything — mowing, planting, sometimes pavers. Specialists do hardscape every day, which means we've cut every wrong corner once and learned not to. Proper base depth, the right compaction, edge restraints that actually hold, polymeric sand sealed correctly. The difference shows up in year five.
